Taxis from central Cardiff to the Bay cost about £5 for a 10-15-minute journey.
You can also catch a train from Cardiff Queen Street Station to Cardiff Bay. The fare is £2.50 each way and it takes 4 minutes.
There are also convenient bus routes: including the number 8 from Queen Street Station (Stop HF) to James Street, and the 89A, 89B and 304 from Customhouse Street JL to Mount Stuart Street. The ride is about 8 minutes, and then it’s a short walk from either stop to Techniquest. Bus fares are £2 one-way and £4 for a day ticket.

If you’re coming by car, Cardiff is best accessed from the M4. You can also catch national rail services to Cardiff Central and Queen Street.

Our international visitors will most likely be flying into either Cardiff or Bristol airport.
You can grab a taxi from Cardiff airport to Cardiff Bay in 25 minutes and the city centre in 30 minutes (costing around £30).
Alternatively, you can get the 304 bus to Customhouse Street for central Cardiff, or to James Street, which is a 4-minute walk from Techniquest (£15 each way).
If you’re flying into Bristol Airport, the A1 Airport FlyerBristol (about £7 each way) will take you to Bedminster Down Road, and from there it’s a short walk to Parson Street train station, where you can catch a GWR train to Cardiff Central (£8 each way).
If you’re flying into a London airport, you can catch a direct train from Paddington to Cardiff Central (£50 each way).
